Will visit Expo 2015, meet govt officials and businessmen.

ISLAMABAD: A 20-member trade delegation, led by Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice Chairman Mufti Hamka Hasan, will visit Pakistan to attend the Expo Pakistan 2015 being held in Karachi from February 25 to March 1.

According to a message received from Jakarta, the delegation includes representatives of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indonesian Fruits and Vegetables Importers and Exporters Association and leading companies from the processed food industry, wheat, rice, pharmaceuticals, leather goods, sports goods, textiles and power production sectors.

The delegation will also have meetings with government officials, the FPCCI, Karachi Chamber, rice exporters, fruit and vegetable exporters, Pakistan-Indonesia Business Forum and with individual companies in Karachi.

A pre-departure meeting was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta on February 9, where the delegation members and embassy officials shared their views.s

Charge d’affaires Syed Zahid Raza and Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Hadi Santoso met the Indonesian businessmen and briefed them about business opportunities in Pakistan.

Mufti Hamka Hasan emphasised that the visit of this delegation would go a long way towards enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries.

Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta Commercial Secretary Maria Kazi, who will accompany the delegation, informed the businessmen about the arrangements made by the TDAP for their visit to Karachi and the schedule of meetings.
