Fatal accident: Senior AJK bureaucrat dies in car crash
The official’s funeral prayers were held at the Civil Secretariat
MUZAFFARABAD:
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Board of Revenue member Raja Shafiq Kiyani died in a road accident near Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.
Police said Kiyani, a senior bureaucrat, was travelling from Kohala to Muzaffarabad in his official car when it fell into a ravine while negotiating a sharp curve near Chatter Kalass, some 15 kilometres from Muzaffarabad.
He died on the spot. The official’s funeral prayers were held at the Civil Secretariat before the body was taken to the native village in Bagh for burial.
He joined the civil service in 1985 and served as a tehsildar, assistant commissioner, deputy commissioner, deputy secretary, additional commissioner and commissioner and former commissioner of Mangla Dam Affairs.
