The Turkish premier would be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including several cabinet ministers and senior government officials.
This would be Davutoglu’s first visit to Pakistan since assuming the present office in August 2014. Earlier, he had visited Pakistan in the capacity of a foreign minister.
During the visit, a meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) will be held. Davutoglu’s will be co-chairing the meeting, to be held for the fourth time, with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Respective Ministers from both the countries would also be in attendance.
The HLSCC meeting would be preceded by meetings of Joint Working Groups (JBGs) in six key areas - finance and banking, trade, energy, transport and communications; education, and culture and tourism. Prior to this, the relevant ministers would also have bilateral interactions with each other, and the outcomes of their deliberations would also be presented at the HLSCC meeting.
The visit programme for the Turkish Prime Minister envisages a tete-a-tete between the two prime ministers, a luncheon hosted by PM Nawaz and a joint press stakeout. A number of Memorandums of Understanding/agreements are expected to be signed as well on the occasion. The two premiers are also expected to attend the Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum 2015.
The Turkish prime minister would call on President Mamnoon Hussain, who will be hosting a dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary and the accompanying delegation. Davutoglu would also attend events related to the academia, culture and the media.
The visit of Turkish prime minister would take bilateral relations between the two countries forward, contributing to the peace and prosperity in Turkey and Pakistan and advancing shared goals of peace, stability and development in the region.
