PESHAWAR: A ninth-grade student who was shot in the arm during the December 16 deadly Taliban assault on the Army Public School left on Tuesday with family members for Queen Elizabeth Hospital, England, for treatment. Ahmad Nawaz, 15, got injured in the incident and was subsequently rushed to hospital while his younger brother Haris Nawaz, 14, was not fortunate enough to escape the deadly attack. Ahmad was earlier admitted to the Lady Reading Hospital where doctors advised his parents to shift him to another facility as the injuries to his arm could not be treated there and they said there is a fear that Ahmad might lose his limb. However, the federal government will bear all his expenditures and Rs30 million has been allocated for Ahmad’s treatment abroad.
