The paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) has arrested four people suspected of having links with a banned organisation during search operations in Zhob district of Balochistan, said an FC spokesperson.
FC and other law enforcing agencies had carried out search operations in Killi Sharna, Killi Ghat and Gawal Ismailzai areas of Zhob district for the recovery of kidnapped employees of Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL). During the search, “FC arrested four suspects who belonged to a banned organisation,” the spokesperson said.
Security forces have recovered 24 rifles with bullets, an SMG with ammunition and other weapons from the accused persons, he said.
“The raids were carried out to ensure the safe recovery of the kidnapped PTCL employees,” FC official said. However, the employees were not located.
Two engineers and four other employees of the (PTCFL) were kidnapped three days ago on February 6 near Zhob and Killa Saifullah. They were earlier reported missing but later it was confirmed that they had been kidnapped by militants. The whereabouts of the kidnapped employees are still unknown.
