GHALANAI:
At least seven suspected terrorists were killed in a clash with the security forces in Mohmand tribal region on Saturday. “Seven terrorists were killed in an ambush after a group of terrorists was spotted by the security forces,” the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The political administration of Mohmand Agency confirmed that they have received from the security forces bodies of the terrorists who were killed in the clash that took place in the Umar Banda Michni area of Ekka Ghund tehsil. The bodies were later buried by the administration.

Sources who saw the bodies at the Agency Headquarters Hospital, where they were brought for post mortem examinations, said that all but one dead terrorist appeared to be 25 to 30 years of age. Five suspected militants were also killed in the same area last month.

Separately, an improvised explosive devices (IEDs) went off in Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency without causing any fatalities. A truck loaded with marble was damaged after hitting a roadside bomb in the Ziarat area Saturday morning. The driver, cleaner and helper were wounded in the blast and were subsequently shifted to the Agency Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Security forces launched a search operation after the blast. IED attacks on security forces and pro-government peace committee members are common in the region.
