His funeral prayers were held at Zainab Mosque in Mohammadia Colony.
A large number of students and colleagues, including UAF Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan, former vice chancellors Bashir Ahmad, Ahmad Nadeen Sheri and Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi former vice chancellor Khalid Mehmmod Khan attended the funeral service.
Talking to newsmen, Khan said Rehman had introduced a variety of high yielding wheat titled LU-26. He said he served as vice chancellor from 1987 to 1991.
He said Rehman obtained his PhD from Washington State University.
He was born on February 14, 1930 in Toba Tek Singh. He joined the UAF, then Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute, in May 1958.
