Solidarity: PPP set to observe Kashmir Day
An Azadi Camp would be set up in front of the Punjab Assembly where party leaders would deliver speeches
LAHORE:
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) central Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has tasked PPP deputy secretary general Dewan Mohyuddin with making arrangements to observe Kashmir Day on February 5.
He has instructed PPP district presidents to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir by arranging seminars and rallies on the day. He said an Azadi Camp would be set up in front of the Punjab Assembly where party leaders would deliver speeches against the Indian occupation of the valley. National songs would also be played at the camp.
Wattoo said PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had declared February 5 Kashmir Day to press the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
“On this day, the people of Kashmir and Pakistanis remind the international community of the atrocities being committed against Kashmir,” He said the PPP was committed to the cause of the Kashmiri people as the legacy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
