Deadly celebration: 11-year-old dies in ‘festive’ firing

Raheema Mai was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

BAHAWALPUR: An 11-year-old girl was killed on Tuesday after being hit by a bullet fired during a wedding celebration.

According to police, Raheema Mai, a resident of Rojhan, went to attend a wedding ceremony along with her parents. “Some of the guests started firing shots in the air. One of the bullets hit Mai. She was taken to a hospital in Rahim Yar Khan in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead on arrival,” police said.
