The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested five officials of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) late on Thursday for supplying electricity to dozens of residences in Rachna Town illegally.
The arrested officials include SDO Muhammad Naeem, Line Superintendents Khurram Shahzad, Hussain Naqvi, Rana Qayyum and Javaid.
FIA Additional Director Muhammad Zafar Chaudhry said that Naeem had been supplying electricity to the houses in exchange for bribes with the assistance of the line superintendents.
He said that the agency had caught the Lesco officials red handed after receiving information in this regard.
Chaudhry said that a case had been registered against them. “They are currently behind bars,” the FIA officer said.
