Nine people attempted suicide in Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan on Tuesday-Wednesday. They were taken to hospitals. One of them, a father of three, passed away on Wednesday.
Police said a 38-year-old man, a resident of Gulshan Aziz, Kot Samaba near Rahim Yar Khan, had had an argument with his wife over financial issues on Tuesday night. He swallowed poison and was taken to a hospital where he died. Police said they had taken his body to a morgue for a post-mortem.
A 25-year-old woman; a 19-year-old boy; an 18-year-old boy; a 24-year-old woman; a 30-year-old woman; a 22-year-old woman; and a 17-year-old girl attempted suicide in separate incidents on Tuesday and Wednesday.
