QUETTA: Two law enforcement personnel, a Balochistan Levies official and his friend were kidnapped and at least 11 suspects were arrested on Tuesday during targeted raids in several parts of the province.

Security forces and other law enforcement agencies carried out a search operation in Mastung district on an intelligence tip-off,

“A security official was killed after armed men opened fire,” official sources confirmed. Another search operation was carried out in Pashtunabad area, on the outskirts of Quetta, which is home to the thousands of Afghan families.

“At least 10 suspects have been rounded up and arms and ammunition seized during the operation,” sources told The Express Tribune.

Police and Balochistan Levies forces continued their province-wide campaign against the shopkeepers selling hate materials. Three suspected Taliban militants have been arrested from Chaman Town in Qila Abdullah district of Balochistan.

Cop killed, two hurt

A police contingent raided the hideout of a proclaimed offender Edu Bangulani but he was not found there so they seized livestock and other things. On their way back, they came under attack in ARD 298 area of Jaffarabad district, said a police official.

A police constable Surab Jamali received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot while a police official and passerby sustained bullet injuries.

Two abducted in Kohlu

According to Levies Thana Kohlu, Miro Hamal Khan, a Levies official, and his friend Fazal Khan Shamir were kidnapped by a group of armed men in Kohlu district of Balochistan on Tuesday.
