Man kills sister, niece for ‘honour’
FAISALABAD:
A man shot and killed his divorced sister and her young daughter for honour in near Kandiwal police station in Chiniot on Thursday.
Kandiwal station house officer (SHO) told The Express Tribune that Ghulam Abbas, a resident of Balianwala village, accused his divorced sister Musarrat Bibi, 45, and her teenage daughter Saima Bibi, 18, for having an affair with some men in their village.
He said the siblings argued for some time before Abbas shot and killed his sister and niece. Zameer Hussain, a neighbour, said Abbas had often quarrelled with her sister after she moved in his house after her divorce a year ago. He said Abbas had forbidden the women from walking around in the village, but they had refused.
The SHO said bodies had been taken into custody and sent to a mortuary for post mortem examination.
He said police had registered a case and a team had been constituted to find and arrest Abbas.
