 Staying safe Security plan for Eid Milad issued

BAHAWALPUR/ SARGODHA: The district police officer on Thursday issued a security plan for Eid Milad. Talking to newsmen after a meeting, he said 78 gatherings would be held and 468 police officials had been deputed for security duties.

DPO Shabbir Ahmad Sithar said people entering mosques would be searched. He said parking spaces would be set up 100 metres away from public gatherings. He said the Elite Force and Muhafiz Squad would patrol the gatherings. He said in case of an emergency, the Quick Response Force and the Reserve Squad would be called for back up. In Sargodha, nearly 1,350 security officials would be deployed around public gatherings and processions.

A spokesman of the district government said Rescue 1122 ambulances would be deputed at congregations at mosques and on procession routes. He said DCO Saqib Manan had met with several religious scholars at his office who had assured him of their cooperation.

He said the main procession would start from Jamia Masjid Hamid Ali Shah and would conclude at the same place after marching on various roads.
