LAHORE:

The Government has decided to shut down 120 trains suffering from losses.

Federal Railways minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said the present government is running seven trains whereas the past governments ran almost 113 trains for political reasons.

Junaid Naseer Faroqui | 13 years ago | Reply I once had the opportunity in 2007 to travel from Karachi to Hyderabad in train with an employee of Pakistan Railways, Mr. Soomro was working in marketing department then. He told me about the legitimate corruption in PR (Pakistan Railways) and showed no hopes that this department is ever going to be privatized and profitable unless this corruption is eradicated... It's been over two years and still PR is suffering from losses of billions of rupees every year despite the fact that all the trains of UP and Down tracks are most found booked! Who should I ask for this mess?
