Woman, accomplice booked for assaulting cop

A woman and her accomplice were arrested after allegedly assaulting an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) inside a police station and threatening to kill him.

According to the FIR lodged on the complaint of ASI Shamsheer Ali, posted at Gulam Muhammadabad Police Station, the case pertained to investigation of FIR No. 1665/25 under Section 406 PPC against suspect Misbah, wife of Shehzad.

The ASI said that on her arrival at the police station, Misbah hurled abuses at him. Her associate, Zarar Khan, son of Mumtaz Ahmed, a resident of Rawalpindi, also joined in, resisted police action, and assaulted the officer.

The suspects also threw official documents lying on the table to the ground. Following the incident, the SHO detained both suspects in the lock-up.
