Negligence: Eight months on, Kifayatullah waits for polio team
CHARSADDA:
Two children residing in a house near District Headquarters Hospital, Charsadda in Wapda Colony have not been administered polio vaccines during the last eight months.
Kifayatullah said his two children, Mashal and Aiman, are under the age of five, but have not been given any polio drops as no immunisation team has visited their residence since the last eight months.
The chalking on the wall outside his house bears testimony to this. According to the scribble, the house was last visited by a polio team in April. Kifayatullah criticised the health department, saying negligence could leave his children crippled for life. He appealed to the government and Unicef to ensure polio teams visit his house to immunise the children according to the stipulated timeframe for polio vaccines.
