NBP had resumed their second innings trailing by 26 runs with seven wickets in hand on the last day, with captain Kamran Akmal at 131 and Sami Aslam at 100 on the crease, but Akmal was soon dismissed on 137, leg before wicket on Yasir Shah’s delivery.

Wahab Riaz and Hassan built an 86-run eighth-wicket partnership, which came to an end with Riaz run-out on 38. Raza then featured in another 87-run 10th-wicket partnership with Ziaul Haq, smacking a splendid ninth-wicket 129-run hit to help NBP post a 207-run lead.

“The first innings matters a lot in this format, and as the pitch was batting-friendly, Rizwan and Shahzad took excellent advantage of it to put the team in a commanding position,” added the skipper.
