On Strike: ASH doctors protest killing

KARACHI:
The out-patient department of the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) remained closed for over two hours for a second consecutive day on Tuesday to protest the killing of Dr Arif Mustafa Siddiqui. The protesters condemned the frequent killings of doctors in the city and vowed to keep demonstrating until they received firm assurances from the authorities about arresting the killers. They also demanded that a comprehensive security strategy for health practitioners. ASH’s emergency department remained open during the strike and the doctors later resumed their services after 11:30am.
