KARACHI: Four of the suspected militants killed during an encounter with the police in Sohrab Goth were identified on Tuesday, while the police have registered cases and initiated investigations. At least 13 suspects were killed when the District Malir police conducted a raid on the militants’ hideout on a tip-off Monday evening. Four of the deceased were identified by their families on Tuesday evening at Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, as Abrar, Amir, Ameerullah and Naveedullah, who belonged to the Waziri tribe and hailed from Bannu. “Their bodies are still at the morgue as we are verifying the families’ claims,” said Sohrab Goth SHO Ismail Lashari. The police had claimed that the deceased militants were affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and al-Qaeda and were plotting a major terror activity. Two kilogrammes of explosives and 13 weapons were also recovered by the police. Fifteen separate FIRs were registered on behalf of the Sohrab Goth SHO.
