Military action: 57 militants killed in airstrikes
At least 20 strikes were carried out using dynamic targeting as Army chief General Raheel Sharif reviewed operations
Pakistan Army launched retaliatory air strikes in Tirah Valley, killing 57 terrorists in the wake of the massacre by Taliban in Peshawar, military’s chief spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj-Gen Asim Bajwa said in a tweet that a fresh operation against the militants had been launched after Tuesday’s attack in Peshawar. In a message posted on Twitter, Bajwa vowed that terrorists will be eliminated from wherever they go.
At least 22 militants were killed in air strikes in the remote areas of Khyber Agency on Tuesday. Hours after the grisly assault on Peshawar’s Army school, fighter jets bombed hideouts of militants in the Dawatoi, Daras and Tora Darra areas of Jamrud tehsil.
According to details, 20 strikes were carried out using dynamic targeting as Army Chief General Raheel Sharif reviewed operations.
