FAISALABAD:
Hundreds of residents of Muhammadabad on Monday protested against Batala Colony police for failing to arrest a man suspected of murder.
The protesters gathered at Satiana-Faisalabad Road and blocked it for traffic. Shafqat Ali, one of the protesters, said Irfan, a resident of Satiana Road, was walking home on Friday night when he was stopped by three armed men. He said they took his wallet and mobile phone and shot him when he resisted.
He said Irfan was seriously injured and rushed to a hospital by some passersby but died on the way. Two days later, he said, police had made no progress. Long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of Satiana-Faisalabad Road due to the demonstration.Batala Colony SHO met with the protesters and assured them the men would be arrested within the next 48 hours.
