Commencement speech: Bahria varsity graduates advised to take up social work
365 master and undergraduate students were given degrees.

Outgoing graduates have been urged to remain engaged in social work for community development.
Bahria University Rector Vice Admiral (retd) Shahid Iqbal while speaking at the 12th convocation of the university on Sunday said that institutes of higher education have gained significant importance in the last many years in fostering competency among the students to be become productive and fruitful to society.
During the convocation, as many as 365 master and undergraduate students were given degrees.
“Scholarly research work is essential for any higher education institute for sustainability as well as intellectual growth of its students,” the rector said.
He said, “It is a matter of great satisfaction and encouragement for all of us that the university is continuously contributing to the human resource of the country”. He said that the Bahria University through its strong community support programmes was working on various internal projects to link them with community development projects.
During the convocation, nine gold and nine silver medals were also given to the top position-holders. The gold medalists include Intikhab Alam, Muhammad Ahmad Amin, Muhammad Ahmad Amin, Nighat Zehra, Sadia Nisar, Muhammad Zubair, Hammad Ghafoor, Muhammad Kashif Ali Khan, Anum Zafar and Muhammad Shoaib.
Pro-rector Rear Admiral (retd) Saleem Akhtar while congratulating the outgoing students said that higher education has now become a tool of economic growth. “Universities have great responsibilities for producing quality graduates to contribute to the economic growth of the country.
