Horse-trading: Dasti tired of PTI’s ‘recycled politicians’
Dasti announces his intention to launch his own political party
MULTAN:
National Assembly Member Jamshed Dasti said on Monday he was tired of recycled politicians joining PTI and announced his intention to launch his own political party. “If Imran Khan keeps allowing all kinds of people in his party, I’d rather represent another party in the National Assembly,” he told The Express Tribune. “I had asked Imran to be careful about who gets membership of the party but he did not listen,” he said. “Perhaps Imran is under pressure and has no choice but to welcome anyone who joins him,” he said. “Horse-trading is not the right way to do politics.” He said most of the politicians who had joined the PTI in last six months wanted a term in the national assembly. “They want to use their time in power legalising their illegal activities,” he said. He said Pakistan needed sincere leaders. He said, ‘I am not against PTI, but corruption cannot be ended by recycling politicians under catchy slogans.” Commenting on his plans for a new party, he said he had begun mobilising workers in south Punjab. He said many Seraiki nationalist leaders supported him.
