Five men allegedly linked to al Qaeda were arrested from the densely populated old city area of Karachi on Thursday.
The CID claimed that the arrests were made during a raid at a hideout in Old Haji Camp in the Napier area of District South.
The raid was carried out by Anti-Extremist Cell of CID. AEC in-charge DSP Ali Raza said that Asad Khan, a local commander for al Qaeda was among the arrested militants. The other militants were identified as Shahid Usman, Shahid Ansari, Fawad Khan and Usman. Raza said that the group was operating al Qaeda network from Karachi.
