Justice at last: I-14 affected given alternate plots

A total of 112 affected persons were given plots in Sector I-12 through computerised balloting by CDA.

ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday allotted alternate plots to those affected during redesigning of Sector I-14. 

A total of 112 affected persons were given plots in Sector I-12 through computerised balloting in lieu of their plots either deleted or allotted to more than one person when the authority was redesigning Sector I-14 a few years ago.

Sector I-14 was originally planned as an industrial sector but was later rezoned as a residential one to meet the increasing need for housing in the capital. A few years ago, it was redesigned again and an estimated 678 plots of various sizes were either deleted or allotted to more than one person.

There was a plan to accommodate the affected persons within the same sector but a sensitive agency refused the authority to create more plots at land adjacent to a ‘sensitive installation’ of the agency.  The CDA decided to allot alternate plots to affected persons in Sector I-12.
