Voicing Concerns: ANP leader warns of protests
KARACHI:
Awami National Party central general secretary Mian Iftikhar has said that his party workers and supporters are being targeted in Karachi. He was addressing a press conference at Mardan House on Monday. “Initially, when the law and order in Karachi worsened, it used to be blamed on two political parties,” he recalled. “Now, target killings are being blamed on sectarianism and extremism.” Iftikhar was of the belief that someone was benefitting from the unrest in Karachi. He warned that if the killings did not stop, they would hold protests all over the country, including the federal capital.
