Fire in Karachi garment factory controlled after 14 hours

No deaths have been reported; one fire brigade personnel injured

KARACHI: Karachi fire brigades and Pakistan Navy personnel spent 14 hours attempting to extinguish a fire in a garment factory in Karach's Site area, Express News reported on Saturday. 

The fire started, for reasons yet unknown, on the evening of December 5 and continued throughout the night and showed no signs of subsiding.

Due to the abundance of cloth and thread in the garment factory, the fire spread throughout the building.

No deaths have yet been reported, however, a member of the fire brigade was injured and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Four fire brigades arrived at the scene after which personnel of the Pakistan Navy also arrived help bring the fire under control, which took the teams a total of 14 hours.
