Autumn colours: Flower show blooms in capital
Winner of the best flower arrangement contest will be announced at the concluding ceremony on December 7
ISLAMABAD:
In the midst of a relatively mild autumn, the Capital Development Authority inaugurated a three-day “Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flower Show” at the Rose and Jasmine Garden on Friday. Various organisations, including the Pakistan Air Force, the Islamabad Club, COD Rawalpindi, set up stalls at the show. A number of varieties of chrysanthemum, including intermediate, incurred, reflex, sprays, anemone, pompons, Korean hybrid, single floor and spidery flower have been displayed in mound, stall and rainbow orders at the show. Miniature gardens, stand flowers and vegetable stalls also feature at the event. Winner of the best flower arrangement contest would be announced at the concluding ceremony on December 7. CDA Member Environment Mustafain Kazmi inaugurated the flower show and said flowers contribute to a healthy environment which leads to healthy attitudes. The event has been organised in collaboration with the Islamabad Horticulture Society and is open for the public.
