US envoy vows to bolster bilateral trade with Pakistan

Richard Olson says US is proud of being Pakistan's largest trading partner

KARACHI: The United States pledged on Wednesday to continue cooperation with Pakistan for boosting bilateral trade and investment ties.

The pledge was voiced by US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson while speaking at the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Karachi, according to Radio Pakistan.

“Both US and Pakistan are cooperating to create a pro-business, pro-investment, and pro-innovation climate," Olson said.

“The United States is proud of being Pakistan's largest trading partner and one of its largest investors,” he added.

Olson reiterated US' commitment to support long-term self-sufficiency for Pakistan and highlighted the important role that business and industry leaders can play in economic growth of the two countries.

I see, under the current circumstances, Pakistan can trust U.S. More so than ever before. It's U.S. Own benefit if in better shape economically. They have learned their lesson now. Pakistan could be a last Defence Wall for India too... against ISIS's threats to its sovereignty. A weakened Pak is unablec

to protect itself against such threat who will also target India after Pak.
