Stored for smuggling: Drugs seized from inside airport

ISLAMABAD: Officials of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), following an intelligence report, thwarted an attempt to smuggle heroin out of the country and recovered 10kg of the high-quality contraband from the domestic departure lounge of Benazir Bhutto International Airport. According to an ANF official, the heroin was concealed behind the air conditioner in the domestic lounge. The search was conducted in collaboration with officials of the Airport Security Force and Civil Aviation Authority. The drug was reportedly going to be smuggled abroad.
