Inflation: Index declines 0.43% week-on-week

SPI for the week ended November 27 registered a decrease of 0.84% over the previous week for the lowest income group

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended November 27 registered a decrease of 0.84% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 205.84 points against 207.06 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group declined 0.43% from 214.93 points in the previous week to 214.00 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group dropped 0.53%. During the week, average prices of 14 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 11 items rose and rates of remaining 28 recorded no change.
