ISI chief calls on PM: Premier emphasises on tackling threats

Gen Akhtar takes the reins of ISI on November 7, attends his first meeting with the premier

ISLAMABAD:
The head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt General Rizwan Akhtar on Saturday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed matters related to national security, said an official handout. Gen Akhtar took the reins of ISI on November 7 and this was his first meeting with the premier after assuming charge. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was also present at the meeting.  According to sources, the PM congratulated him on his new assignment and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the premier agency to protect Pakistan from internal and external threats.
