A secure route: Muharram 9 procession sucessfully completed

KARACHI:

The main procession for Muharrum 9 culminated at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah, said the spokesperson of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM).

The traditional route of the procession goes through Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Mehfil Shah-Khurasan, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazaar, Kharadar and the Nawab Mahabat Khanji Road.

Smaller mourning processions were also carried out in the city at different imambargahs, including Markazi Imambargah, Liaquatabad Imambargah, the Shah-e-Najaf on Martin Road. These concluded at Nishtar Park and merged with main procession.

During the procession, strict security measures were taken by the law enforcers and several roads were sealed by containers. No one from the neighbourhood was allowed to go in or out to adjacent areas.
