Big B has apparently been accused of raising the slogan “Khoon ka badla khoon” on October 31, 1984 after then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi was shot dead by her two Sikh bodyguards.
Bachchan has 21 days to respond to the charges of human rights violations.
"If you failed to respond, judgment by default will be entered against you for relief demanded in the complaint," reads the October 27 summon issued by the US federal court.
The complaint against Bachchan was filed by New York-based Sikh for Justice (SFJ) and two alleged victims of the anti-Sikh riots.
The victims, Babu Singh Dukhiya and Mohender Singh are based in Delhi and California, respectively, reported The Economic Times.
The 35-page complaint claims that the Bollywood mega star instigated people for violence after the assassination of Indira Gandhi.
The 1984 anti-Sikhs riots or the November 1984 Sikh Massacre was a series of persecutions directed against Sikhs in India, by anti-Sikh mobs, in response to the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards.
There were more than 8,000 deaths, including 3,000 in Delhi.

@liar liar big B doesn't dislike non Hindus. He's secular and visits all shrines be Hindu muslim Sikh temple and prays. Secondly he's himself half Sikh. He's mom is sardarni. Didn't these people think twice before making such foolish claims for limelight?
Nonsense , His mother was sikh from Punjab(Pakistan)
@Moiz Omar: I think he can ignore it but the US Federal court can probably convict him and he will probably never enter US afterwards, I guess.
Do the US courts know the meaning of the word 'jurisdiction'?
One day Narindera Modi would also be prosecuted in the International Court of Justice in Hague for the genocide he had incited against the innocent Muslims of Gujarat.
Shocking! I'd never imagined that Big B would have the mentality of an ordinary Hindu, but perhaps most, if not all, are like their new leader.
Nonsense. Big B's dislike for non-Hindus aside, he is no killer.
If he is not a US citizen or resident, can they really convict him? Can't he just ignore it?
