ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 23 registered a decrease of 0.36% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 208.38 points against 209.14 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group also decreased 0.33% from 216.58 points in the previous week to 215.86 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 2.89%. During the week, average prices of 10 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 13 items rose and rates of remaining 30 items recorded no change.
