Two killed, 14 injured in Quetta bombing

Two FC personnel injured in the blast which took place on Qambrani Road targeting security forces

QUETTA: A blast on Quetta's Qambrani Road left two people dead and 14 others -- including two personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) -- injured on Thursday, Express News reported.

An improvised explosive device (IED) was planted beside the road on Qambrani road, according to police. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and police and FC personnel arrived at the scene of the blast.

“It was detonated through a remote-controlled device when a convoy of the Frontier Corps passed by,” a senior police official said.

A vehicle of security forces was also damaged in the blast, which was followed by intense firing after the blast. Rescue workers transported the injured to the FC hospital and Provincial Sundeman Hospital Quetta.

“Two civilians succumbed to their injuries on arrival and one is in critical condition,” SSP Imran Qureshi said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet .

The blast occurred just hours after eight people who belonged to the Hazara community were gunned down.
