Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan said the provincial government is ready to hold local government (LG) polls.
Election experts told The Express Tribune on condition of anonymity LG polls cannot possibly be held in November. They said after an election date is fixed, at least 45 days are required for preparation. Some confusion also persists about delimitation; in April the Supreme Court of Pakistan had asked for fresh delimitation.

Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan said the provincial government is ready to hold local government (LG) polls.
According to a statement issued by Jamaat-e-Islami Peshawar on Wednesday, the LG department has sent a summary to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in which the department has sought approval to write a letter to the election commission in this regard. After Imran Khan’s statement on Tuesday that K-P would be holding LG polls on November 15, no official statement has been issued regarding the timeline for said polls.
