Workers’ conference: NP leaders criticise protesters

Bizenjo said the slogan of ‘Roti, Kapra aur Makaan’ was not of the Pakistan Peoples Party but of the National Party.

ISLAMABAD:

Those talking about revolution have no interest in public issues and do not even know what poverty is. Their only interest is to make people follow them blindly.

This was stated by Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo at a workers conference of the National Party which was followed by a discussion with civil society representatives and intellectuals on the current political situation at a private hotel on Saturday.

Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said all efforts are being made to make things better in Balochistan, adding that the process of reforms has not only started but people have greatly benefited by it. “Reforms will bring change,” he said.

Bizenjo said the slogan of ‘Roti, Kapra aur Makaan’ was not of the Pakistan Peoples Party but of the National Party and now the ‘Inqilabis’ have high-jacked their slogan. He said in order to abolish the feudal system, land reforms were necessary but no government was ready to carry them out. He further said that people complain about democracy when they do not get any benefits from it.

The current system needed to be changed, he said, adding that progress was not possible if the expenses on security were not reduced and the same were not used for the welfare of people.
