Armed men injure 4 Levies personnel, leave with 21 kalashnikovs in Washuk

Security forces and personnel of the Levies conducted a search operation to trace the armed men

QUETTA: Armed men took hold of around 21 Kalashnikoves from Levies personnel following an exchange of fire between the two in the Besima area of the troubled Washuk district of Balochistan.

During the exchange of fire, at least four members of the Levies were wounded and were later shifted to a hospital for treatment.

An official of the Balochistan Levies said the armed men had also snatched a truck in the same area which the Levies personnel managed to retrieve following the exchange of fire.

“The exchange of fire lasted for hours,” an official at the Deputy Commissioner Office told The Express Tribune.

After the incident, security forces and personnel of the Levies conducted a search operation to trace the armed men.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
