ISLAMABAD:

Owner of a private printing press in Lahore has sent a legal notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief after the latter accused him of illegally printing ballot papers in last year’s general elections.

Serving the notice through his counsel, the owner of Shaukat Noor Printers claimed that PTI chief had made false accusation in his speech regarding printing of illegal ballot papers.

“My client categorically rebut(s) the same allegations as incorrect and states on oath that he did not print the alleged ballot papers for the Elections 2013,” the attorney said in the defamation notice — a copy of which was also sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

PTI had accused Punjab election commissioner of getting millions of fake ballots printed from private printing press to be used for rigging.

The counsel for the printing press owner added that after Imran’s address his client is being criticised and humiliated by public at large and general public is calling him a conspirator.
