KARACHI: An unidentified man riding a motorcycle hurled a cracker bomb at two police mobile vans in North Nazimabad on Thursday, within the limits of the Shahrae Noor Jahan police station.

SHO Tariq Mehmood said that two mobiles of the Shahrae Noor Jahan police were on duty in North Nazimabad Block-I, near a Bank Al Habib branch, when an unidentified man riding a motorcycle threw a cracker bomb at them.

The cracker fell two yards away from the vans and exploded with a loud bang, but the on-duty personnel remained unharmed.

The attacker managed to flee, taking advantage of the heavy traffic on the main road from where he had hurled the cracker.

“The police could not chase him or fire at him because of the heavy traffic,” said SHO Mehmood.
