Targeted?: One killed in attack on ANP-W leader

Khan participated in a procession in Shabqadar against the Taliban in 2008.

SHABQADAR: A man was killed when unidentified attackers fired at an Awami National Party-Wali (ANP-W) leader in Shabqadar on Thursday. ANP-W’s Malik Nawaz Khan survived the attack, but Zahir Dil, a barber, was killed.  Shabqadar police quoted eyewitnesses as saying the attackers emerged from a maize field and opened fire on Khan who was sitting outside his house. Khan was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar in critical condition. Staunch in his stance against militants, Khan participated in a procession in Shabqadar against the Taliban in 2008.
