On fire: Chinese-assembled coach worth millions destroyed

The coach was standing at the Karachi Cantonment Station’s washing yard when a fire erupted and destroyed the coach.

A Chinese-assembled coach worth millions which was recently added to the Pakistan Railways fleet was destroyed on Sunday morning in a fire.


The coach was standing at the Karachi Cantonment Station’s washing yard on Sunday morning when a fire erupted and destroyed the coach.

By the time the fire brigade got there and put the fire out, the coach was destroyed beyond repair.

According to the divisional commercial officer of the Pakistan Railways’ Karachi division, the reasons behind the fire have yet to be ascertained and an inquiry has been launched to look into the matter.

While talking to The Express Tribune, the divisional commercial officer, Karachi division, said that it was a spare coach and was standing at the washing yard. Furthermore, he said that it was to be used when needed.
