Results out: Khairpur students claim top three positions in HSC Part II exams
Male candidates clinch top positions in both pre-medical and pre-engineering groups.

Boys outshine girls in the annual examinations of Higher Secondary Certificate Part II pre-medical and pre-engineering groups.
According to the notification issued on Tuesday by the Sukkur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education controller of examinations, Abdul Sami Soomro, the top three positions in both groups went to students of Khairpur.
Pre-medical
In the pre-medical group, Sanaullah Phul, a student of Evershine Higher Secondary School Ranipur, secured the first position among the boys with 967 marks. Ghazanfar Ali and Faheem Ahmed of Mazhar Muslim Model Higher Secondary School Ranipur were second and third with 958 and 957 marks, respectively.
Javeria Fatima of Government College for Women Khairpur clinched first position among the girls with 963 marks. Kanwal from Pak-Turk International Schools and Colleges Khairpur was second with 961 marks and Faiza Kanwal of Iqra Public Higher Secondary School Gambat bagged the third position by securing 958 marks.
A total of 14,072 male and female candidates were registered, out of which 14,051 appeared in the examination. Out of the 14,051 candidates, 857 received the ‘A-1’ grade, while 2,314 got the ‘A’ grade, 4,217 had the ‘B’ grade, 2,775 had ‘C’ grade and 373 had the ‘D’ grade. A total of 10,536 candidates passed, but the results of 328 candidates were withheld due to cheating and other reasons. The pass percentage of male candidates was 67.30 per cent and 83.31 per cent for females, while overall percentage was 74.98 per cent.
Pre-engineering
In the pre-engineering group, Rizwan Ahmed of Government Superior Science College, Khairpur, clinched the first position among the boys by securing 970 marks. Zubair Gul of Mazhar Muslim Model Higher Secondary School, Khairpur, was second with 960 marks, while Qamar Maqsood of Government Sachal Sarmast Degree College, Ranipur, came third with 959 marks.
Among the girls, Erum Atta and Mahnoor of Mazhar Muslim Model Higher Secondary School, Ranipur, claimed the top two positions with 952 and 949 marks respectively. Zebunisa of Attia Higher Secondary School, Khairpur, came third with 948 marks.
In the pre-engineering group, 13,704 candidates were registered, out of which 13,689 appeared in the examination. Among these candidates, 517 achieved the ‘A-1’ grade, 2,160 achieved the ‘A’ grade, 3,577 had the ‘B’ grade, 3,237 had the ‘C’ grade and 413 got the ‘D’ grade. The total number of passing candidates was 9,904, while the result of 462 candidates was withheld. The passing percentage of male candidates was 71.52 per cent, and 86.92 per cent for the female candidates, while overall passing percentage was 72.35 per cent.
