Terming Parliament “illegitimate”, Imran said he would stage a peaceful protest in front of Parliament House.
“I do not want people and the police to clash, which is why I will lead the march into the Red Zone myself,” Khan reiterated.
Claiming that the police is on his side and would not harm him, Imran warned, “If any Gullu Butt tries to create violence, we will not spare Nawaz Sharif.”
Further, Imran said he is putting pressure on the government after thorough deliberation.
Responding to a question on whether the PTI chief would accept the resignation of only Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Imran echoed his constant demand that both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz would have to step down.
Urging Nawaz to listen to him and resign, Imran warned the premier that the crowd is charged and would not spare him.
Calling Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah Nawaz's "private secretary", Imran said Shah is not playing the role of opposition.
Shah is on the committee formed by the government to hold talks with the PTI. However, the PTI chief has refused to hold talks till the prime minister resigns.

@iqbal malik Slave mind...My sympathies
IK..You are great...Please do not let this Family dictatorship rule our nation.
@Citizen26: Now they can't even do the vote count because those rigged votes have been rectified by PML-N workers.
Under the current circumstances, I seriously believe that future Public Leaders should avoid MLKJr. or M.Gandhi style "public hardship episodes" until after 100% of diplomatic, political & judicial venues are exhausted. Political meetings definitely are for the "calm, articulate & brainy ones". If not then public march is a short-cut for not so brainy ones. To me it's no different than TTP style extreme protest. In the end: It's not "how smart you are", but how many smart advisers you have. or if you care to get advice.
I say; Go Back to the Drawing Boards, once again. Mistakes happen! Nothing new. If you could bring a crowd today, you can bring them tomorrow too. Unless of course you have over estimated your numbers. In that case; go back to the Drawing Room, while you still can, really!
Go! See for Yourself!
IK, enough is enough - you have made your point it seems in drunken happiness, singing dancing using vile language - if the situation was not so dire for the country, one would think you are a successful disc jockey of sorts..
I am not too sure of your awareness of the loss being caused on a daily basis to the economy, small and medium size enterprises, exports, local investments and more. Please consider the harm you are doing to the nation.
Whilst you leave for Bani Gala to sleep in an air conditioned room with clean linen, eat a hearty breakfast, take your time off for workouts and such, your workers are languishing amongst their excrements, lack of water, hygiene, food, suffering the heat night and day, sleeping without so much as sheets if not pillows or mattresses - for how long do you intend making them suffer for your whims?
You have made your point no matter how crudely, it is time for you to sit at a table as civilised people, discuss your agrievances with all parties, set up independent committees to address such complaints worthy of the nation, with total transparency. Be a part of the decision making setup to ensure it works, or name people you trust as I wonder if you personally have the capacity to work diligently...
Do not harm the country you profess to love any further over issues of ego.
This man is not trust worthy changes his stance every second moment he is the biggest liar that our nation has seen over from the last 3 months. Thanks God he is not the prime minister of Pakistan. He should just led the nation like he is leading his long march until the country cripples down he has become a liability for our country
Why don't u burn yourself Mr. IK? That will be more helpful for the country.
All my friends who are suggesting that PTI is a party of pious and modest people are extremely ignorant or perhaps are not ready to see the reality. PTI is surrounded by people like Shah Mehmood Qureshi ( a feudal), Jahangir Tareen (a big industrialist), Azam Swati ( the richest politician in Pakistan as per official records), Faisal Wawda (a loan defaulter - i am not sharing specific details such as the Bank and defaulted amount) and Khurshid Kasuri (another industrialist as for him education is an industry). The only good thing PTI had was its non violent nature, which they have shunned. I strongly urge my fellow countrymen to look what is happening around - PTI is paving way and legitimising use of power/violence. Few months later, a more violent crowd will ransack Islamabad and capture the country followed by a more violent crowd and the cycle will continue....
@3rdRockFromTheSun: You're so Right! But the only thing different here is;The hole that IK is DIGGING is actually a Gold Mine and he is very close to Hitting the JackPot!
Imran Khan built a cancer hospital in the memory of his mother. It seems Imran Khan's sons will built a mental hospital in his memory.
The only thing that's “illegitimate” is not a duly elected parliament. What is “illegitimate” is his undemocratic demand that he'll force executive to resign and dissolve parliament.
He is just doing the Army's bidding to lead a coup. Wah! Pakistan never fails to find a person to break its fledgling democracy. That's where this is all headed.
Poor man has truly lost the plot. Someone come and take him back home before he embarrasses himself any further.
@PT: He is out fighting some feudals... Exemple, the court has ordered the registration of FIR against shareefs but no one dare to do so...they are hiding behind their authority...they should be thrown out
@irfan: Man you need lessons in histroy
Can the great leader please enlighten us as to what's the principle he is fighting for and what's the precedent being established here. That anybody who can bring 20k people into the streets of Islamabad can topple the government? This smells a lot like the road to Somalia.
@irfan: Only you have severe case of inferiority complex, that's all!
Until politicians go to jail for frauds committed during their time in office nothing will change.
Until politicians believe the laws apply equally to them nothing will change.
]
@Mohsin: Yeah right. "Islamic Republic" indeed. We have another Islamic State very close by too. And look how that turned out. Religion is useful when it stays within the confines of the home. When it is out, you have chaos.
@Solomon2 Agree with you. But all we have is one, and that too an impulsive and impatient one. That's not how productive and positive changes can be brought in society. Last thing Pakistan need is an emotional driver to run this skidding car straight into the ditch.
It's not an ego issue you simple people. It's a wake up call to all the sleeping fools who don't realize whats being done to them behind this veil of "democracy". I'm hoping against hope that we as a nation are not completely dead yet and have the guts to rise up against these corrupt cowards.
This was the only way out left to handle thief NS. Nothing else could have been done as he has hijacked entire machinery.
What a statement from a PM position hopeful. I read it "DO or Die" Does any sensible PTI supporters still think he deserves to lead our great nation which has many problems and have enemy all around us?
@unbelievable: I agree that IK's method of protesting is debatable. However, isn't it a moral obligation on PM to step down if he agrees elections were rigged as said by Nisar in Parliament.
@Oats: If elections were free and fair as you believe so, then why govt doesn't do vote count and vote verification of the 4 polling stations a demand put forward by PTI.
Solution is simple: Do the vote count and silence mouth of everyone.
@Kamran: PTI only asked for civil disobedience. What is the benefit for people's paying taxes when the current so called fake leaders steal it and use it to for their own means. I ask you to join us back in our support for PTI as he is not just looking at his own province but striving for the whole country. He wants tax money to be spent on you and I. He does not want leaders to have lavish lifestyles. He wants the person elected by your vote to work for you as you are paying that person to serve the community. As you see in several other countries, and just as Imran Khan reminded us, freedom is not given to us in a plate, it has to be earned. We earned freedom back in 1947 and that came with a big price. Now we are again surrounded by monarch's who live and treat us like Pharaohs did with their people in the past. Nawaz Sharif view is "Mera Khandaan" and Imran Khan's view is "Mera Pakistan" as you have noticed. We are only trying to get back our rights via a peaceful process without inciting and violence like PML-N did back in the days if you can recall.
@Kamran: Perhaps Pakistan needs not just one Imran Khan but twenty, all in peaceful democratic competition with one another. That would encourage politics of policy rather than personality, I think.
Imran Khan seems to be the only person to hold the capacity to run the country and eliminate the corruption. He is a true leader and will eventually get rid of the so called Gullu Butts that harm people for their political opinion. We all know he does not call for violence. He persuades people to be peaceful just like in yesterday's address to people he persuaded the peaceful protesters to not even break a flower pot.
Imran khan is not a democratic man He is trying to show himself as a strange beast in his own proud. He can do nothing except Hallabol.
@Citizen26:
I support IK complaint about voter rigging - but his method of resolving the alleged rigging is the issue. Demanding the resignation of the PM is over the top - as well as ignoring suggested solutions such as having the SC review the allegations. He comes off as a typical power hungry politician who lost an election - takes what might have been a legitimate issue and drags it through the sewer.
A person who speaks the truth, a person who fights for justice, a person who sacrifices his energy at 63 years of age just for the sake of the people of the SO-Called Islamic Republic of Pakistan. How can people call him to "save his face" Why is he out there? why is he protesting? He is protesting outside because people who feed us, the kisan company, the labourers, people who work 24/7 yet not get enough food to feed their children 2 times a day. I see no point in debating online, Go out there! History is being made, be a part of it.
Why should Nawaz Sharif resign if nothing is proved against him? Courts and Judicial Commission will decide whether elections were fair or not. It is not justified to ask him to resign before proving any thing. People of PTI will not understand my point of view.
He is not doing this for his self he is only doing for poor people of pakistan.this elected government came in power with cheating.please do not call it Elected.we must encourage Mr khan.@sabi:
Where is all the talk of a 5000 crowd now!!
This is not the democracy I stood in the sun for 6.5 hours to vote for!!
GonawazGoA Basic Assumption............Not appreciating or accepting the moves of IK, does not mean we support NS......IK cant ask for his own support, just to oppose NS, ...IK is not the alternative, this azadi march has proved!!!
@Citizen26: Most international observers do not say the elections were rigged. In fact they say the elections were largely free and fair. I have no doubt some minor irregularities took place but that happens in all countries - particularly poor countries. No one believes the outcome would be much changed. Now you need to ask yourself if some minor irregularities justify causing unrest, instability, hurting the economy. We have only had the first real democratic transition of power. I am most disappointed at Imran's behavior and the lack of insight shown by his small crowd of followers. Millions voted for Nawaz Sharif because we want more economic growth. We have a right to have our voices heard too. We want to see all of Pakistan growing economically. Imran Khan is not a God but revealing himself to be an immature sportsman.
I don't understand how people blame IK for this chaos.
Elections were rigged and almost every Pakistani agrees to it. Now, if people don't find out who was invlolved in the rigging and why did the rigging happened then we have to expect all such protests and instability. It is natural to come.
How can a pakistani have a faith in future elections or the system?
IK repereadly mentioned that he accepts he lost the elections but doesn't accept rigging in the process. If Nawaz wanted to prevent this chaos, then his govt could have identified people responsible for rigging, sentence them and then make reforms in the Parliament.
More than a year has passed by but there is ZERO progress on behalf of the governement.
Now, If Imran protests then what is wrong with his demands or protests?
Crtics of Imran seem to have taken a position similar to that of supporters of Israel like in recent Israeli-Gaza conflict.
Imran's movement is the insult of millions of voters who have voted for Nawaz Sharif. All this shows that this nation does not deserve democracy.
Insha Allah PML (N) all the way.
All IK haters, keep on worshipping your false god NS. But do think about the mother who was shot from point-blank range, before deciding who is right or wrong. It may happen to your mother one day as well. Special message for @CH.ALLAH DAD & @SABI
I have heard that Imran has got education from Oxford University. His language reveals that he is not even matric pass. Allah save us from the rule of such man.
Nawaz Sharif is a man of character and man of family. I have never listened any dirty word from his mouth against Imran Khan. ON the other hand, all of us often listen the words of Imran Khan against Nawaz Sharif. Imran claims to be the representative of youth. This is what he is teaching the youth. He is doing politics of hate and violence. He is promoting hate and violence in the society. When will we get rid of Imran Khan.
Imran, I damn care whatever you say. I only believe one thing that Pakistan has no alternative of Nawaz Sharif. He is the best. Allah give him health, success and long life.
Imran has lost all the respect today due to his bazari language used against Prime Minister. He has lost all the ethical and moral values. He should remember that he will die one day. He has to give answer to Allah for all his deeds and sayings. I hate him only because of his dirty tongue.
@irfan: Irfan, you speak from heart, just like Imran! These selfish Pakistanis don't deserve any revolution. They also don't deserve the leaders like Imran Khan and TUQ. So both of these great leaders should return to their respective countries and never lead Pakistanis again.
Entire nation listened the language that Imran used for his opponent Nawaz Sharif today. I am shocked to listen such dirty language from the mouth of Imran Khan. No sane man can make him an ideal. I was much ashamed of voting for PTI in 2013 elections. Educated youth should not follow him.
@ Sher
Actions speak louder than words!!!, if you need to write thousands of words to inform people that what IK, rather than PTI, has done for the country...........then you need to think again about your strategy!!!
yep great tactical move by IK, now I can see his dharna news on BBC.com along with Jackie Chans's son's arrest on drug charges. Great coverage ;)
@sher: you clearly belong on the podium with Imran Khan.
Burnt all ships... class Kaptaan.. keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep going IK
@sher: pl take care of others time thanks
@sher As i had mentioned in my earlier post (not published yet, waiting moderation), the Ik followers will find some convoluted logic to still support IK even after this 2nd soonami that turned out to be a passing monsoon shower! How about this convoluted logic/conspiracy theory (which is as good, if not better than your convoluted logic). IK had been the cheer leader for the TTP, now that his 'misguided' brothers are brutally killed by the army (BTW, right thing to do) and IK can't do anything to stop the killig of TTP, IK is afraid that if he is in KPK he might be a target for TTP as they see it as betrayal by the Imran. So, IK makes up all this jalsas and marches crap, so that he is surrounded by security 24/7 and has an excuse to stay in isloo (the safest city in all of pakistan) away from KPK and TTP! How is that?
The first thing to do when you are in a 'hole' is to stop digging ! Mr. Khan insists on digging with greater ferocity.
@sher: U wrote very well i am agree 100 % with u . PTI is is the only party party in Pakistan whom people should trust . We Knew that Sharif and Zaradi family very well
GUYS FOR PLEASE>>> YOU HAVE MISSED EVERYTHING< YOU DONT SEE WHAT IMRAN HAS DONE............ I must say he is a better politician than the one we are seeing from the past 2 decades or may be 3 decades. Only real one we had was Benazir Bhutto Shaheed but unfortunatrly she was hijacked by her Husband..... But let us just discuss Imran khan and his Moves... what a beauty of politics...... That is what you call "Tactical Move" - in Military terms or you can say in western Terms. Two Perspectives one is for the "Local Audience" and the second is for "International Audience". For the local audience, in front of them it’s a blunder by IK (no doubt) But what about international audience (from whom IK did what). Let’s come to the point. After discussing this matter (IK speech) with some good intellectuals, military pros-think tanks, depth-political minded people of different parties. At last after getting some better response, IK actually hit two things with single shot. First IK is a "Political Party". He can't attack with mobs on the parliament and diplomatic enclave. He is running democratic identity (Political party). It will be a big blunder for his party in future’s perspective if he did such thing. As we know Nawaz Shareef and his cabinet attacked Supreme Court in 90s and till today they're facing that case. - What is Tactical move of IK. IK gave the ultimatum to PM for two days and announced to launch a civil disobedience campaign against the government. Now yesterday what exactly happened? Before, the international media was not covering the political crisis of Pakistan. Today all the Int. media start reporting "Headline" about Civil disobedience by PTI in Pakistan and halt all the state functions in "Capital" of Pakistan. That is what his agenda to call the west, “We as a PTI, 2nd largest party shut-down Government functionaries which include, dialogues, and business collaborations, military or political activities in the state capital of Pakistan. In that case all the international investors and foreigners, diplomat limited their activities. Guess what today, Government of Pakistan announced "two days of vacation" (requested) to all the embassies in Islamabad. Half of diplomats moved to Karachi (consulates) and rest are on vacations. One day emergency vacation considers as normal in any West Country but "Two Days" vacation consider serious crisis in the country. - Civil Disobedience: In front of Pakistani's, we hardly understand what is exactly civil disobedience is and those who know-how, remember as a Pakistani citizen we hardly care about such things but in front of west, civil disobedience is like a extreme step taken by some community/party or group against the government at some higher level. First he was requested Ch.Nisar (according to Ch.Nisar) Ik want to move his March/Stage 200 meter + and get close to the diplomatic enclave (actually). That was really clever move. Yesterday his real target was International community. His message to Int community, "Imran Khan and his party" in government will go for civil obedience against the Federal government. Second after his speech, capital becomes dis-functional. In front of the International community, if capital of any state is dis-functional, they consider as “big crisis" in the country and limited their activities, stop their investors, stop their people for traveling, stop all the business & military dialogues. - Political Survival: If Imran Khan ordered or announced his protestor’s to go and strike over the parliament what will happen. In short-term maybe it will help him but in long-term, tomorrow any party will do the same with him or create problems for his party. Remember "QADRI" has nothing to lose but IK is. He is actually saved himself from that label. - Qadri Factor: TUQ is not a political identity and has no career in politics. If TUQ will strike on the parliament (Today) it will help automatically IK to open his voters, merge in to TUQ mobs and attack. In this case IK achieved his one objective without using his own force; his objective will achieved through Qadri. It will be WIN WIN situation for IK "na ilzaam lagayga kay hamnay kya... na hamare hakomat ayege tu hamko koi blame kar payega kay hamnay kya tha asa kise kay saath". - Economic Loss IK has played a brilliant game, government is under pressure. IMF had serious concerns over the marches and the serious drop in the KSE index and huge economic loss due to the political crisis. Hint: Ishaq Dar now left for Dubai today. IMF and other investors postponed their trips because as Ch.Nisar said “who kahtay hain hamko nahe pata agli hakomat kiske hogi jisay ham agli baat kareengay Imran sahib ki is march ke waja say government ko arboon rupooon ka nuksaan hogaya hey aur ho raha hey” this is serious dent to Government as well. — Well Guys just watch there is more to come.... If the plan succeeds than Imran khan wins and the MuttonHead Nawaz will resign and new elections soon... lets see.....
I was a PTI supporter but seeing IK doing this to the country is shameful. I am sorry to say but he has let his ego take him down. He should have invested all his energy in improving life in KPK. It is unfortunate that when the armed forces are getting rid of terrorists from Pakistan, IK is creating issues in society - I hope he is dealt with by law enforcement agencies and the operation continues. I know PML-N is a business organization but PTI doesn't seem to be an answer either with IK's now apparent selfish dreams of power. IK should think of the country and really improve just the KPK to set a good example. I am sad for Pakistan. I had high hoped for PTI and IK. I hope IK is released of his duties from PTI as he has done enough, and someone more sensible given the responsibility. Oh and please get rid of power hungry crooks from PTI such as Shah Mahmood, Sheeda Talli and so on.
this man does what i wish i could do to zardari, sharif and altaf. so long as pakistanis support people like sharif, zardari and altaf ... we have no future.
He sounds more and more maniacal by the day. Looks like the pressure is really getting to him. Hope he doesn't tear his hair out soon.
A headline reads like this "Khan to march on parliament, army to protect 'Red zone' " Can people differentiate between the friends and enemies of Pakistan? if it is still not clear to you, let me translate it. IMRAN KHAN VS PAKISTAN ARMY Better? chose one now.
I support him coz he is honest and has will to do something, rest of the nation has no courage or b**ls to follow a true leader. They seem to prefer the tyrants.
Politicians like Imran Khan can be very dangerous. He himself seems to be suggesting that he has nothing to lose. Thinking is not his strength and he has an anarchist in Sheikh Rasheed as his advisor. That is one volatile combination.
Is that admission of stupidity or determination to continue one until it reaches its logical conclusion?
not only bridges but also your image of being civilized, honest and truth speaking personality in this long march in a very short way !
Imran Khan is isolated and mad.
If anything consistent in this man is it's is changing stance and speaking lies.
Guess what. If Pakistanis were present in France, '' French Revolution '' was going to be missed from French history. If Pakistanis were present in East and West Germany, instead of demolishing Berlin war, Germany was going to have more walls. If Pakistanis were present in South Africa, Nelson Mandela have been called Idiot, a man of no vision, and people in South Africa were living like slaves. If Pakistanis were present in US, Martin Luther King was going to be rejected and they beg him, to let them in their miserable condition forever. I wish this comment is published, so people can know, how much selfish we have become.
IK u are true and cry as loud as you can ,people around u implanted by feudal s and other political forces have done their job !
This is the beauty of true democracy that you are bullying threatening inciting violence using street language against elected representatives and civil servants without a pause. In Egypt or other banana republics that which are source of your inspirations, you would have long been behind bars.
IK: "I have burnt all bridges and will not turn back"
Because you have burnt all your bridges you will not turn back....So YOUR EGO is the real reason? And for your ego YOU ARE holding the whole nation to ransom?
Even IK doesn't believe himself that protest will remain peaceful.
Please save some face. Don't tarnish my image of a great hero. One who won us the World Cup against all odds and made Pakistan such a dominant team. One who built a world class charity hospital through sheer dedication and effort. One who inspired hope in millions of Pakistanis, who in turn gave him a chance at running a major part of the country. Just run KPK as the model for the rest of the country, and in 4 years from now PTI will be the majority party. Concentrate on the opportunity given to you. Accept your losses at this point. Imran Sahib, what have you done??
Never misses an opportunity to make a bad decision. Another Tsunami which didn't amt to much and he's desperate to salvage something - I suspect this is his last gasp at fame and fortune and he knows it.
Kaptaan we are all with you.
