‘Affront’ to democracy: Balochistan Assembly decries PAT, PTI marches

Such protests are a conspiracy against the democratic system and people of the country, says the assembly speaker

QUETTA:

The Balochistan Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution against the dual marches led by PTI and PAT in Islamabad on Monday and called upon the federal government to take action against their “unconstitutional activities”.

Senior parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, tabled the resolution that recommended barring the entry of PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri in Balochistan. The PML-N has been backed by different political groups – including the Pushtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), National Party (NP) and the Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid (PML-Q).

“The resolution declares the PAT and PTI sit-ins in Islamabad as undemocratic and unconstitutional. Such protests are a conspiracy against the democratic system and people of the country,” said Mir Jan Jamali, the assembly speaker.
