The government has conferred the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on Dr Rehana Asghar of the Mirpur University of Science and Technology in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
President Mamnoon Hussain decorated Asghar on Independence Day for her academic and research achievements in botany and biotechnology, stated a press release.
Asghar, who is presently chair of the university’s department of biotechnology, has taught at the University of Balochistan, Quetta, and Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.
She received her PhD degree from the University of California apart from two post-doctorates at US universities.
