LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Friday extended for eight days physical remand of five police officials allegedly involved in the June 17 Model Town clashes in which 14 people were killed. The policemen are Inspector Shaikh Amir Saleem, Sub-Inspector Hafiz Athar and Constables Khurram, Naveed and Nawaz. The investigation officer sought the extension on the plea that probe was not complete yet. He said police wanted to watch footage to ascertain the role of the policemen in the clashes. Counsel for the accused said his clients were innocent. He requested the court to send them on judicial remand.
