Saluting the heroes!: Tributes paid to workers of Pakistan Movement
Punjab Group of Colleges director urges youth to follow the principle of unity, faith and discipline
RAWALPINDI:
The students of Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Pakistan Movement and Pakistan Armed Forces in a ceremony organised as part of independence day celebrations at Punjab College of Commerce, Sixth Road, Rawalpindi.
PGC Director Muhammad Akram Chaudhry was the chief guest on the occasion. Various heads of PGC, faculty members, students and their parents attended the function.
In connection with the independence day well-prepared programmes including skits, tableaus, national songs and quiz shows were organised by the students. The audience appreciated the high standard of presentations. Prizes were given on outstanding performances.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry said that freedom fighters of the Pakistan Movement rendered great sacrifices to achieve a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. He said that it was the national and moral obligation of the people of the country to play their role in building and strengthening of Pakistan.
Chaudhry urged the youth to follow the principles of unity, faith and discipline. He further stressed the need of devoting efforts to the acquisition of knowledge so that the youth could shoulder future responsibilities of the country.
He said that the students were being given equal opportunities to excel at all educational institutes of the PGC.
Chaudhry said that the faculty members were striving hard to inculcate high moral values and a spirit of healthy competition among the students. He also expressed his gratitude to the parents who had taken keen interest in education of their children.
The heads of various campuses also expressed their views about the Independence Day. They said that the leaders of the Pakistan Movement were a role model for the young generation.
